Ag Quip Field Days

During August each year the NSGBG also has a huge promotional display at the Ag Quip Field days held at Gunnedah. The event is matched up with the annual bull sale held 2 weeks after Ag Quip, as a promotional tool showcasing the bulls on offer, the group and ultimately the Santa Gertrudis Breed.

Each year NSGBG's Ag Quip site coordinator Mrs Robin Hooper, of Boolarong Stud at Somerton, manages to organise enough meat, bread, tea & coffee to serve up over 5500 meals during the 3 day event. Past years have seen that the lunch rush starts around 10:30, a mere hour and a half after the public entry time, and runs through to 3 in the afternoon, with regular customers coming back right 'til the end to get another juicy steak before heading home.

NSGBG's success at Ag Quip can also be attributed to the many hours the group members put into getting the site ready, and time spent introducing people to and promoting the breed, which assist in providing pleasing results at the groups other events.
